Blows...
- Blowing up the earth
was my first project at Fox Animation Studios. This scene
had over Forty composite layers and took about six months
to complete. Using Softimage 3|D, I rotoscoped tectonic plates
and wrapped them around a sphere. Using these plates as guides
I then cut apart the earth's crust. Each piece was extruded
and keyframed from the center outward into space. It was a
challenge to keep the look of the traditional animators and
not get too realistic.
